Blesi

Iceland is such a land of contrast, especially in winter time. Where else, would you find snow and ice on the ground, yet be surrounded by steam from hot springs.

This is Blesi, a hot water vent at Geysir (where the generic term Geyser originates from). The main active hot water spout now is Strokkur, the original Geysir having been more or less blocked by rocks thrown in to it, in an attempt to get an eruption! Geysir is a must do stop off point on the Golden Circle.
